Optimize Landing Pages for Social SharingLanding pages are a key element to any integrated inbound marketing program. They allow you to effectively achieve your goal of converting a higher percentage of visitors into leads. This occurs because landing pages make life easy for your visitors—visitors no longer have to navigate through your website to find exactly what they need. And if your visitor has a good experience with your Brand, why not allow them to share it with their social media connections? Adding social sharing links will drive more prospects to your landing pages, allowing you to generate more leads. And, who doesn’t want more leads?

Adding social sharing links to your landing and thank you pages may not be as simple as it sounds though. Be sure to optimize your links in order to increase the amount of traffic you generate to your landing page. Do this by creating a clear message of your offer to spark your audience’s interest and make it easy for your visitors to share your landing page. 

How to Set Up Sharing Links

There are two options you can choose from when creating social sharing links for your landing page:

  • Custom sharing links: Custom links allow you to tailor the language around your offer. For instance, you can say “Tweet this eBook” if the landing page revolves around an eBook download.   • Official icons: Embed a code from each social media site that you would like to include on your landing page. This option can be simpler and provide benefits of social proof by allowing you to display the number of shares your offer has received.

The quality of your content will be the biggest factor in determining how much your offer is shared, not the set-up of your share links. So, make sure you choose the link option that works best for you. If you aren’t sure, test out both options to see which produces the greatest results for your Brand! 

Optimizing Your Social Message

Once you determine your method, be sure to optimize your social media message for your sharing links. There are three components to include in your social message that will provide clear information about your offer:

  • An @ mention of your company
  • The title of your offer
  • A link to your landing page

Including these three components in every social sharing link will provide a clear message of your offer and increase its chances of being shared by your audience.

Social sharing links used in both your landing and thank you pages will provide social proof for your offer and increase its page conversion rate. If your visitors have a good experience, allow them to spread the word of your offer and Brand!
