Why Your Website Needs Calls-to-ActionGreat content and a compelling design won’t be effective website elements if they aren’t generating new leads or customers for your organization. All of the hard work you put into them will be a waste, because they will just be sitting there looking pretty. So, focus on turning your website into a lean, mean, lead generation machine.

Whether it’s from a prospect to a lead, or a lead to a customer, it’s important that your website’s content promotes conversion. After you start generating leads, you can use the other tools in your marketing toolkit to lead them down your sales funnel. It’s important to tie the element’s of your website together so you can continue to generate leads, and the best way to do this is through effective calls-to-action (CTAs).

The best CTAs contain these important elements:
  • Readable text
  • Attractive design
  • Valuable offer
  • Clickable image with an unbroken link
  • Simple format and copy

To understand what CTA elements work best for your Brand, you’ll need to conduct A/B testing. A/B testing is where you test a single variable on two CTAs to see its effectiveness. For example, you can try changing the image associated with your offer. Half of your audience would see the new image, while the other half would see your original image. From there, you can compare your analytics to see if the image had a significant effect on your conversions.

Another way to improve your CTAs is to see where they are positioned on your website. There should be a CTA on every appropriate webpage, but it needs to be placed in a location where your visitors can find it without necessarily looking at the whole page. Place CTAs above the fold to increase their likelihood of being seen and clicked on.
